Perfectly nestled in the valleys of North East Victoria, Bright is an easy location for visitors from all around who find their way to our colourful town. With a rich history of mining there is plenty to learn with information plaques scattered along many of our local walks and an array of information provided in the Bright Library.
If it’s not so much the history rather the scenery or adventure that you are interested in there are numerous walking tracks up through the mountains creating magical atmospheres and views that go on for miles.
Depending on the weather it’s also worth seeing the scenery from the sky with adventure activities available such as paragliding or hang-gliding. With plenty more adventure activities including kayaking, horse riding and rock climbing Bright is the ideal destination for all.
The Ovens River is a great place for all, whether you’re fishing, swimming, canoeing or just relaxing on the shady banks. With quite a number of walking tracks along the Ovens River and Morses Creek you are sure to take in the beautiful scenery some way or another.
Bright is home to the ever so popular ‘Bright Autumn Festival’ and ‘Bright Spring Festival’. Visitors from all destinations come to visit to see the magnificent autumn colours and the blossoming spring flowers.
Surrounded by beautiful mountains and National Parks, Bright is an all year destination. From swimming and camping at Lake Catani in the Summer to skiing and snowboarding at Mt Hotham in winter. Mt Buffalo National Park and The Alpine National Park are open to visitors all year round.

If you’re not so much into competing, why not take a leisurely ride along the Rail Trail to visit some of our many cafes, wineries and farms.
